The fun way to be healthy

Norfolk County Council and Norwich City Community Sports Foundation have teamed up for Play 90, an initiative to encourage children of all abilities to be active for at least 90 minutes a day.

The initiative builds on the success of last year's programme and demonstrates the County Council's ongoing commitment to physical education and sport.

PE teachers, teaching assistants and pupils have already been trying new fitness and activity ideas during special training days at Carrow Road which can then be used in schools across the county to inspire children. There will be further training with midday supervisors with the aim of making playgrounds even more active.

Want to get out and about this summer?

Then take a look at Active Norfolk's activity search to find out what's going on close to you.

You can search a huge database and find an activity near you, or if you'd prefer something a little less formal, then visit our Fun Fitness page to view and download some fitness techniques which you can practice in the back garden or at your local park. Alternatively check out the Awesome Activities page to get some ideas of games which again you can do in your back garden or at the park using everyday equipment.

Get out there and get active!
